Middlesex Health is Hiring Student Nurse Interns 

Program Start Date: May 19, 2025

Summary:

The Student Nurse Technician demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the care needed by the patient. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development for patient groups served, and provide care appropriate to the age of each patient served.

STUDENT NURSE TECHNICIAN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a complex patient care assignment

  • Perform key roles to help facilitate patient care

    • Vital signs

    • Activities of daily living

    • Blood glucose monitoring

    • Report findings to the interdisciplinary team

    • Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent and experience in a patient care environment as either a CNA, EMT or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program, or third-year BSN student, or second year RN student. Participation in a three to seven week orientation provided by the hospital as per unit specifications. Good organization and communication skills. Must relate well to others. Is able to carry out instructions. Has the personal qualities of neatness, accuracy and dependability. Multitasking skills are vital.
